Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq praised India’s fast bowling pair. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami After his impressive performance against England in Lucknow on Sunday.
Akram praised Bumrah a lot and described the Indian bowler as a complete bowler.
“He is the best in the world at the moment. Up the stairs! Control, pace, variations, just a complete bowler. “It is a pleasure to watch,” Akram told ASports.
“With the new ball, to get that kind of movement on this kind of pitch… the pace, the carry, the follow-through… you can call it a complete bowler,” he said.
Akram also explained what makes him so lethal and why his control over the new ball is better than his.
“When Bumrah is bowling to a left-handed batsman from around the wicket and hitting the ball on the seam… and when he is bowling from outside the crease, the batsman will feel that the ball is coming in .
“He will play for that angle, but the ball hits the pitch and goes away instead of coming in. Most of the time, you’re going to get beaten.
“When I used to bowl such outswingers to right-handed batsmen with the new ball, sometimes I could not even control the ball. But Bumrah’s control over the new ball is definitely better than mine,” Wasim said with a smile.

Akram also said that Pakistani bowlers should learn from Bumrah and play more Test matches.
“Why Bumrah is more lethal than Pakistan’s bowlers is because he plays more Test cricket, whereas our bowlers don’t play much in the longer format,” Akram said.
If it was Bumrah who set the tone for India again against England, but it was Shami’s opening spell of 4-1-5-2 that let them down. Mohammed Shami, who took five wickets against New Zealand in Dharamsala, took four more wickets against England.
“What a World Cup Shammi is having! Look how the seam hits the deck on every ball,” Akram said.
